We all have seen the tragedy that has taken place on the gulfcoast of the USA caused by Hurricane Katrina. The pictures thatwe are seeing are horrifying, tragic, and overwhelming. It trulymakes one think how precious life truly is. As stated by theWhite House, over SQUARE MILES is affected by thisdisaster! In response to this disaster, all charitableorganizations are organizing the largest mobilization ofresources for one single US natural disaster in the history ofthe US. As we sit in our home that is not threatened, enjoy our mealswith our families and be able to tuck our children into theirsafe bed at night, we need to stop and think of those hundredsof thousands of people that are not able to do this and may notbe able to for months to come. Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV - After the Earthquake two weeks ago, a local Haitian group developed a system in which they are helping to deliver water to Haitians. Haitians are helping Haitians. The Haitian group Dlo Pwop clean water in creole is affiliated with International Action. Dlo PwopInternational Action supplies , Haitians with one gallon of clean water each day.This local Haitian group located water storage tanks which are undamaged and able to hold at least gallons each. The local group is now paying local water truckers to fill storage tanks and to deliver drinkable water directly to the population in the poorest parts of Port-au-Prince.Dlo PwopInternational Action is adding chlorine to each truckload of water.
